How does Red Home Realty calculate the 20% cash back, and how will I receive it?
The typical commission for the buyer’s agent on a home purchase in Austin is 3% of the total purchase price. To determine your cash back rebate, simply calculate 20% of that 3% and you’ve got your number. In come cases the commission will be lower, in which case the rebate will be calculated based on the actual commission received by the agent. Most buyers prefer to take their rebate in the form of a check (guaranteed within 10 days after closing!), but it can also be applied as cash at closing to reduce your closing costs, meaning you pay less out of pocket to close on your new home.
Do I have to work exclusively with Red Home Realty to get the cash back rebate?
In order to be eligible for the 20% cash back rebate, your agent will ask you to sign an Exclusive Buyer’s Agency agreement, which is a form that establishes a mutual obligation in which the agent has a responsibility to work hard for you and you promise to work exclusively with that agent. Provided that you are working only with your agent they will work tirelessly to make sure you get everything you need, and whether you see one home or 100, they’ll be with you all the way until you receive you cash back rebate check.
